What personal data we collect and why
Third-party data
A registered user can connect third-party accounts (for example, Facebook) to our service. If a user wants to connect their Facebook account, we collect their name, email address, and profile picture from there to make registration easier. The user can disconnect other accounts at any time.
User activity on the site
We use a logging program that records the activity of logged-in users on our site. This program is part of our information security and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Comments
When visitors leave a comment on this site, we collect the data shown in the comment fields, the IP address, and information about the browser version. An anonymized hash created from the email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine whether the commenter is a user of that service. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Contact forms
The information you submit through our contact forms is stored on our website’s server. All data on the forms is permanently deleted from the servers every six months. If, in connection with a form, you have consented to your data being added to one of Buenno’s registers (for example, the test customer register), your data is retained in that register until further notice.
Cookies
Buenno Research Oy’s online service uses cookies to improve the user experience. By using our website, you consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies.
A cookie is a small data file that is stored in a computer’s web browser when visiting websites, without harming the device. Cookies and similar technologies can be used to collect, process, and analyze information about site usage, traffic, events, and other statistical data related to the site.
If you do not register and log in to our services, you cannot be identified by cookies alone. You can, however, disable cookies on this and other sites, for example by deleting them directly from your browser.
If you leave a comment on the site, you can choose to save your name, email address, and URL in a cookie. This feature adds convenience, as you do not have to fill in the form again each time you add a comment. The cookie data is deleted from the browser after one year.
If you have an account and log in to the site, we set a temporary cookie that determines whether your browser supports cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when the browser window is closed.
When you log in, we set several cookies that save your login and display settings. Login cookies are deleted within two days, and display-setting cookies expire after one year. If you select “Remember me” when logging in, your login information is retained for two weeks. If you log out, the login-related cookies are deleted at the same time.
If you publish an article or edit an existing one, we store a cookie in your browser that contains the ID of the article being edited. The cookie expires within one day.
Embedded content from other website
Articles on this site may contain embedded content (for example, videos, images, articles, and so on). Opening embedded content from other websites is comparable to the visitor visiting the third-party site themselves. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking that interaction if and when you are logged in as a user on the site.
T
he contact forms on this site are protected by reCAPTCHA (Google): its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
How long we retain data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained until further notice. This is done so that we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
We store the profile information of registered users. All users can view, edit, and delete their own personal data at any time. Only the username cannot be changed. Website administrators can view and edit user profile information.
What rights you have to your data
If you have a user account on this site or have left comments, you can request an export file of your personal data, including all the personal data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. The right to delete your own data does not apply to personal data that we must retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-prevention service. Buenno Research Oy may use third parties to process personal data in accordance with Buenno Research Oy’s instructions. Buenno Research Oy is not responsible for the actions or omissions of third parties. Please note that the use of some services may be subject to third-party terms. Buenno Research Oy is in no way responsible for how these third parties use your personal data.
